Liden Community U11s 1 Avonvale Utd U11s 6

AVONVALE U11s dominated possession without making it count in the early stages but they eventually raced to an emphatic win.

Striker Gabriel Evans was twice denied by strong saves from the Liden keeper.

Avonvale were then awarded a penalty and captain Sam Fenwick coolly placed it in the right hand corner.

Vale grew in confidence and scored two more before half-time with goals from Bailey Robinson and another from Fenwick.

In the second half Avonvale began to play flowing football with Charlie Berryman-Jenkins taking up a midfield role and soon adding to their tally.

Luca Pollitt then cut in from the left, went round two players and slotted it past the keeper. Robinson had two more assists with Louis Corbett and Inigo Fenwick finishing off the moves.

The back three of Atticus Adams, Will Evans and Lochie Anderson remained strong, giving goalie Rhys Cogbill a quiet afternoon.

But the keeper had to go off three minutes from time and Liden scored a consolation goal in the time remaining.

Avonvale Utd U12s 1 Malmesbury Eagles U12s 1

AVONVALE fought back to ensure a 1-1 draw against Malmesbury Eagles in a match they should have won.

The home side were dangerous in attack from the first minute with Dom Randall forcing the keeper into fine saves.

However, not for the first time this season, Vale were undone when committing too many men forward and conceding a goal from a counter attack.

This did not slow their momentum however, with Elliot Kayani almost equalising straight from the kick-off and Lewis Rodgers forcing the keeper into a fine save.

The second half continued in similar fashion, with the home side's wingers causing problems but no one was able to finish the chances.

Moments after heading Theo Harper's cross against the bar, captain Benjamin Cook scored the equaliser, breaking through the middle and finishing into the corner.

Malmesbury's keeper continued in fine form, even making a save from the last kick of the game as the Vale side were left frustrated.

Avonvale Utd U15s 4 Hawkesbury Upton U15s 3

VALE U15s came up against a strong side with pace in Hawkesbury Upton who were always a threat on the break.

However, Vale managed to dominate possession for long periods of the first half and went 1-0 up after 10 minutes when Adam Gale fired an unstoppable shot into the top right corner following good work by Lorcan Purser and Laurence Cooper.

One became two midway through the half with Gale latching on to a James Skeldon through ball. Hawkesbury then scored on the break following a Vale corner and as the half drew to a close there were chances for both sides to increase their tally.

Vale settled down after the break and again they dominated for long periods.

Ben Theaker scored his first goal of the season when a Lorcan Purser corner found him unmarked at the far post.

Hawkesbury then grabbed another lifeline, with a headed goal from a free kick.

Midway through the half Vale scored what was effectively the winning goal when Noah Dougherty calmly finished a move involving Theo Martin and Gale.

The scoring wasn't over, however, when a superb solo run by the visitors' centre forward made for a tense final few minutes.

But Vale held on to take a deserved three points.

MoM: Noah Dougherty.
