Running Somewhere Else

Weston Christmas Cracker 10k

LOTS OF seasonal fun was had by all at the (fancy dress) Weston Christmas Cracker 10k.

The day didn't start off too well for the intrepid Running Somewhere Else members who travelled to the seaside to take part in wet and windy conditions.

But after a while the sun shone through, even if the wind didn't let up.

The course was mainly along the beach on wet sand and then out on to the streets and back along the prom, with a finish under the Grand Pier.

First home for the RSE club was Santa's little helper (Dave Whitlow, 48.33), followed by James Bond 007 (Wayne Edginton, 51.54), Mrs Santa (Tracey Edginton, 1:05.59), and then a massed finish from A Shepherd (Paul Coates) and his flock of sheep (Caroline Coates, Jacki Day, Caroline Terry, Tracey Pitts, Christine Coombes and Kirsty Pitts), along with Scooby Doo (Andrew Maddison) and Velma (Laura Maddison).

Our shepherd and his flock of sheep won second prize in the fancy dress competition.

Swindon Parkrun

A LOVELY sunny, frosty morning saw three members from RSE run in last weekend's Swindon 5k Parkrun.

Matt Lambourne was first back, finishing a time of time of 19.55, followed by Sally Jamison 21.41 (another great PB) and Claire Joyce 28.28.
