Glos Northern Senior Div Two
Avonvale Utd 1 Bibury 1
OLD rivalries were renewed as third-placed Avonvale entertained Bibury (13th) with the game ending as a draw.
League positions meant nothing as the visitors started the stronger and should have gone ahead midway through the first half only to spurn a good opportunity.
By this time, however, the Vale had forced their way into the game and finished the half in the ascendancy.
Forced to make early substitutions in the second half and still coming to terms with the changes it was perhaps surprising that the home side then took the lead.
The excellent George Robinson found Kyroe Thomas on the right and his low shot beat the diving Bibury keeper.
The visitors then increased their pressure and although the Vale defended valiantly they were unable to hold on to their lead. It was disappointing goal to concede but in fairness a deserved equaliser.
