Malmesbury Vics 4 Vale of Pewsey 0

A SAM PARKER hat-trick paved the way for an emphatic Vics victory over Pewsey, but manager Wayne Kibble seemed just as pleased with his side's clean sheet after leaking a number of goals recently.

Malmesbury made wholesale changes to their side, due to work commitments, injuries and suspensions.

They started well, pinning the visitors back, from the kick-off and the pressure paid off in the ninth minute when striker Parker ran through to put the ball through the keeper's legs and into the net.

Straight from the restart, Pewsey were denied an equaliser by a superb save from young keeper Josh Langley.

The Vics continued to dominate play and doubled the lead in the 34th minute when Parker found space in the box before coolly slotting the ball home.

A minute later Ed Wilkins and Parker again unlocked the Vale defence, with Parker scoring a solid back-post header to complete his hat-trick.

The second half started with wave after wave of Vics attacks. The luckless Wilkins hit the bar on 48 minutes but scored the goal he richly deserved in the 67th minute, following a cross from Ewen Kenny.

Despite a lot of possession, the home side could add no further goals but ran out comfortable winners.

MoM: Ewen Kenny.
