CIRENCESTER Golf Club members will be able to play for a new perpetual trophy, the Victory Plate, in 2015 thanks to the generosity of jewellers F Hinds.
The club has always enjoyed a close friendship with the firm whose Cirencester branch is in Cricklade Street.
Martin Searle, manager of the local branch, recently presented the club with a silver plate to commemorate the new competition.
Entry is open only to members who have a handicap of 16 and above and the new 36-hole individual net competition will run in conjunction with the annual Club Handicap Championship.
The introduction of this new event provides an opportunity for the higher handicap player to win a major competition and register their name on the club honours' board.
