The Vale went in at half-time 2-0 up thanks to a close-range goal from captain Atticus Adams. The second half saw Vale add seven further goals from Luca Pollitt, Sam Stevens, Cian Phoenix and two each from Bailey Robinson and Gabriel Evans.

Wanborough battled throughout with their goalkeeper making some great saves, but this was Vale's day.

Avonvale United U15's 4 Quedgeley Wanderers U15s 2

AVONVALE raced into a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes of a game played in blustery conditions.

Adam Gale's pace terrorised the visitors and he started the scoring off with a neat finish. Then came the team's goal of the season so far: Noah Dougherty finishing off a Theo Martin cross after some superb build-up play.

Subsequently the game became scrappy in conditions that favoured kite flying, and Quedgeley pulled a goal back.

This sparked Vale back into action and Gale grabbed his second to make it 3-1 at half-time. With James Skeldon and Gale continuing in top form in the second half it was not long before the two combined and Gale completed his hat-trick with a superb lob over the keeper for 4-1. Skeldon was also unlucky when hitting the post, but five minutes from time Quedgeley grabbed a consolation goal after some hesitant defending.

MoM: Adam Gale.

AVONVALE UTD U9s produced a fine all-round display.

Jake Randall opened the scoring and quickly added another before captain Zak Hitchcock-Smith stepped in with a couple if beauties, including one goal of the season contender from near the corner flag.

By half-time the Vale boys had established a 0-6 lead with Randall completing his hat-trick and a fantastic individual goal coming from Philip Monaghan.

Playing into the wind in the second half changed the game and Malmesbury threatened to come back into it, scoring a couple of quick goals before Jake added his fourth and Zak his third.

Malmesbury did manage two more consolation goals but Vale held on for a great away result.
