Cirencester Town Dev 4 Wantage Town 2
UNFORTUNATELY the biggest winner was the wind but after a blustery 90 minutes Cirencester had another three points in the bag.
Ciren thought they had scored on 21 minutes when a Jacob Davidge shot was turned in by Tom Luce only for it to be judged offside. Shortly after, Davidge was taken down in the box and Luce stepped up to make it 1-0 from the spot.
However, Wantage equalised on 39 minutes when George Peare brought down a Wantage forward to give away a penalty which was duly dispatched.
The game became an even more scrappy affair after the break until the 64th minute when Shane Bumphrey headed on a cross and Danny Gudger was on hand to side-foot the ball home to make it 2-1.
Robbie James made it 3-1 when he found the back of the net from the edge of the box.
Ciren's fourth came after a long ball from Adam Clatworthy was headed on to Bumphrey who saw the keeper off his line and lobbed him. Wantage scored their second goal almost immediately from the restart.
There were two or three more half-chances for both sides before the ref finally blew his whistle. Not a game for the connoisseurs, but three more points are what matter.
MoM: Robbie James.
