TETBURY teenage golfer Kesley March saved his best round (75) until last on the final day of the 54-hole Telegraph BMW Junior Golf Championship held at Quinta do Lago in Portugal.
But the young Minchinhampton Golf Club member, who had won the county junior title by eight shots to qualify for this year’s finals, had left himself too much to do after the opening two rounds.
March’s three-round total of 236 was 30 shots adrift of the winner Vitor Lopes.
“It has been a really great learning experience for me,” said Kesley.
“It has certainly been a step in the right direction to getting better and I will take away a lot from this.
“I am going to change my swing over the winter and work on my rhythm on the putting green. It will be a grind but if I want to play golf at university in America I have to do these things.”
