Gloucestershire AAA cross country series
THE Cotswold Farm Park near Guiting Power was the venue for the first of the county cross country race series.
The weather held off for our runners on Saturday who completed a rather bumpy but fast course. One hundred and forty ladies competed in the 6.5km race. First home for RSE was Kirsty Pitts 32.11, followed by Liz Thomas 32.57 and Laura Maddison 34.45.
Next to race were the men, 258 competing in the 9.5km race.
First home for the club was James Thomas 34.50, followed by Simon Bowers 36.58, John Buck 38.39, Andrew Maddison 40.26, Martin Pitts 41.12 and Wayne Edginton 44.41.
Swindon Park Run
ELAINE CHAPMAN ran in the 5k Park Run on Saturday and got a new PB of 22.49. Also running for the club was Claire Joyce who ran the course in 26.59.
Colby Park Run
LOUISE ABBOTT was first in her age group (VW 55-59) at the very wet Colby Park Run in Pembrokeshire on Saturday, in a time of 31.50.
Yorkshire Marathon
Two RSE members travelled to York at the weekend to race in the Yorkshire Marathon.
Well done to Dave Whitlow, who completed the course in 3:40.39 and special congratulations to Alice Mason, who completed her first marathon in 4:49.30.
Oxford Half-Marathon
ONE of our newest members, Juliette Burt, completed in the Oxford Half-Marathon on Sunday in a time of 1:44.58.
Also running for the club and after competing in the cross country the day before, Laura Maddison finished in a time of 2:09.56.
Swindon 5- mile multi terrain
ANOTHER of our new members, Hali Kinson, ran in the Swindon 5-mile multi terrain race and completed the course in 42.51.
