M4 Karting Cirencester League Div One
Oaksey 7
Minchinhampton Town 0
THE MINI revolution that new managers Phil Burrows and Alan Hall have brought to Oaksey is beginning to bear fruit.
Oaksey gained an easy 7-0 victory against a toothless Minchinhampton side who were unable to give much attacking support to Andy Ruddock.
It was Ruddock who had his side’s best chance on 23 minutes from close in but he put the ball well wide of keeper Kristian Trimble.
The home side went 2-0 up with strikes from Phil Hall and Jake Pegler on 20 and 22 minutes against opponents who were reduced to 10 men early on.
Poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept the Oaksey forwards out but five goals after the break gave the side its biggest league victory for more than eight years and manager Burrows’ first clean sheet in his managerial career.
Second-half scorers were Hall (with two to complete his hat-trick), the tireless Danny Cook, Toby Horton (header) and Jake Pinnell (from the spot) on an afternoon to remember for the hosts.
