POULTON gained another narrow win in a close encounter with Highworth Town Dev that could have gone either way in the end.
The youthful Highworth team got off to a great start with Joe Ouldridge scoring after just two minutes but their lead was short-lived.
John Dawson netted the equaliser five minutes later and from then on it was end-to-end with Highworth probably having the better chances in the first half.
Poulton, however, got the winner midway through the second period when Tom Carpenter scored from close range to complete the double over Highworth, having won there by the same score in the first match of the season.
