Andoversford 251-6

Fairford II 180-4

Fairford were unable to contain the big-hitting Cerrone as he carried his bat. He put on a century opening stand with Chris Baxter (24) and finished with a late flurry of sixes to take Andoversford to the imposing total of 251-6.

On a difficult afternoon for the visitors Paul Morris bowled economically despite a shoulder injury and youngsters Will Chapman and wicketkeeper Dan Godwin led the fielding effort. Chapman also bowled well to take 1-20 and Harvey New marked his league debut with two wickets towards the end.

Fairford needed their top order to fire to have any chance of victory. However, two early wickets fell cheaply and the match was effectively over when injury forced David Taylor to retire hurt for 27.

Fairford were reduced to batting for bonus points which they did effectively: Simon Embleton-Smith (57no) and Paul Morris (33no) managed the consolation of four such points as the innings ended on 180-4.

However, the day belonged to Cerrone as Andoversford won by 71 runs.
