Great Rissington

Cirencester II 88-4

Having been asked to bat, a strong-looking Town side were soon in trouble against an erratic home pace attack. Andy Cooper, having just hit a boundary, was caught behind after chasing what would have been the third wide in the first over from Morgan.

Alex Binnie then guided a simple catch to backward point off Witt’s second over and the Rissington bowler then produced a straight one to clean bowl Dominic Jeffcott for five.

Jamie Jamieson-Black played some attractive shots before he edged a catch behind off Morgan to depart for 13 and with the total on 39-4 after nine overs the Town looked in some disarray.

Fortunately Jack Roberts (23no) and Jono Jamieson-Black (23no) settled in to steady the innings both playing some neat shots to add an unbroken stand of 47.

The skies had begun to look increasingly threatening, however, and three balls after Roberts had smashed a huge six in the 21st over a huge thunderclap followed instantly by torrential raIn washed out any chance of further play with the Town total on 88-4.
