TIGGY WIGGY crushed her 23 rivals in the £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday to provide Wiltshire trainer Richard Hannon with his first win in the race.

His father, also Richard, from whom he took over at the start of the season, won the race seven times before retiring.

Tiggy Wiggy was the 5-2 favourite and won by six lengths from Haxby with Fast Act third.

Al Kazeem, the three-time Group 1 winner trained in Wiltshire by Roger Charlton, made a comeback to racing on Saturday after an unsuccessful stint at stud.

But the six-year-old, ridden by James Doyle, could finish only fourth in the Doom Bar Stakes behind surprise winner Amralah despite starting 11-10 favourite.

The legendary Beach Boys provided the post- racing entertainment in front of a packed crowd, running through a string of hits including good Vibratsons, Surfin’ USA and California Girls.
