LEGENDARY jump jockey AP McCoy and former world eventing champion Zara Phillips are among the star-studded riders taking part in a unique horse race to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the St James's Place Barbury International Horse Trials.
McCoy and Phillips will respectively lead teams of jump jockeys and event riders over a specially designed course which will include a water jump in Barbury’s main arena.
Called the JCB Champions Challenge, it will feature on the Saturday of the horse trials, July 5.
Showjumpers competing at the event for the BS Grand Prix prize will make up a third team, with the winning squad from the Inter Hunt Scurry, held on the same day forming the fourth team.
Joining Zara on the eventer’s team will be William Fox-Pitt, Sir Mark Todd and Laura Collett.
McCoy, the first jump jockey to ride 4000 winners, will be joined in his team by formre champion jockey John Francome and Sam Twiston-Davies, the new stable jockey to Paul Nicholls.
