LECHLADE will be determined to bounce back to winning ways following their shock nine-wicket defeat at home last week to local rivals Swindon in the WEPL Glos Wilts Division.

Lechlade, currently second in the division, travel to bottom club Chippenham this weekend with a near-full strength side.

All-rounder Paul Godding and wicket keeper Sam Burdock return to the team.

Asanka Vithanage will be missing as he hasn’t recovered sufficiently from the head injury sustained in last Saturday’s clash with Swindon.

Lechlade coach Luke Sellers said: “Saturday’s result hopefully has been a wake-up call for us.

“Not wanting to take anything away from Swindon, who played very well and fully deserved their win, but I think some complacency had crept into our attitude and at this level there is no place for it as there are some capable teams in this division as we saw last week.”

Captain Joe Breet added: “The boys were all fairly dejected after the Swindon game. We have all had a good talk about things and everyone is determined to bounce back and raise their games to the levels we know we are all capable of.

“The work ethic at training this week was very good and spirits were high.”

Breet will be looking for a big win to see Lechlade overturn current leaders Rockhampton’s slim one-point advantage.
