Annie Pegler was one of many first-timers and she can be very proud of her achievement.
A training road bike was prepared to suit Annie and she posted a respectable time of 31.55, heading home suitably pleased with her efforts.
Of the 81 riders taking part, 19 of them were Corinium members as well as a past member, Steve Derrick.
Tony Costello excelled on the night, registering a magical 21.44 to take first place. Current club champion in the 10m TT series Pete Hutchinson took second place in 22.11 and Andy Morgan excelled with 22.57 for third place.
The pack was led in by Trevor Hodges with a super time of 24.30 in fourth.
Sarah Gunn, the club’s international triathlete was in next, shattering her own existing course record of 25.40 to post 25.01.
She would certainly have been sub-25 minutes but was hindered by road traffic at one point. She is obviously on form for this week's European Triathlon Championships in which she earned an age-group third place last year.
Fellow members of the Corinium club wish her well.
Other times: 6, Mark Foyn 25.06; 7, Jason Costello 25.34; 8, Kevin Lister 25.39; 9, Richard Woods 25.40; 10, Paul Fuchs 25.56; 11, Gerry Peppin 26.06; 12, Alex Foyn (jnr) 26.20; 13, Allan Norwood 26.59; 14, Steve Derrick 28.07, 15, Denis Hedges 29.25; 16, Terry Barry 29.43; 17, Marguerite Miatt 30.06.
For Marguerite it was a fastest-ver 10-mile TT and she hopes to break the 30-minute barrier this season. This was also a club age group record.
Another triathlete, Carol Clarke, raced to 31.24. She recently qualified in her age group for next year’s European Triathlon Sprint Championships.
