Clark edged out the defending champion David Jones who shot a gross 80.

Clark's card boasted 10 pars and only one double bogey. Jones was left ruing a missed 12-inch putt which may have seen him retain this coveted trophy.

John Thurston won division one of the competition with a net score of 69 on countback from Tony Jafrate and Clark, who both had net 69s.

Performance of the day came from octogenarian vet Tony Lester who in division two scored a net 68.

Tony put together this score with a set of new clubs after a previous set were stolen from his car recently.

Patrick (call me Jo) Hickey was second with a net 69 and David Purkiss third with a net 72 in division two.
