SOME of the biggest names in equestrian sport are coming to Salperton Horse Trials on the weekend of June 21-22.

Among more then 600 applications for the the classes include horses entered by William Fox-Pitt, Andrew Nicholson, Mark Todd, Pippa Funnell, Zara Phillips, Mary King and Laura Collett, some of whom competed at Badminton.

Salperton, which is just off the A436 midway between Bourton-on-the-Water and Cheltenham, boasts one of Gloucestershire's most stunning private estates.

The classes are sure to be hotly contested with such a wealth of talent on show.

New this year, in addition to the Advanced, Intermediate and Novice sections, is championship class for the best ponies in the country.
