CIRENCESTER thirds retained their unbeaten record and stayed top of Division Three of the CDCA League after a convincing 63-run win over Longborough in the Park.
Sweetfuels CDCA Div Three
Cirencester III 189-6
Longborough & Sezincote 126 all out
Batting first, the Town were given a fine start by Clive Brown and James Battishill who shared a half-century stand before Brown slipped and broke his collarbone having scored 34.
Richard Moody, Chris Moy and Rob Watson then kept the runs flowing in the middle order and in the closing overs third-team stalwarts Brian Woodcock and Phil Carter took the final total to 189-6.
Longborough began their reply confidently enough, but once second-wicket pair Nascott and Newbold had departed only Clapham with a defiant 36 put up much resistance as they were dismissed for 126.
Sam Frost, Watson and Mike Howell shared the majority of the wickets.
