NEWLY-PROMOTED Cirencester Town face a massive rise in travelling expenses when they line up in the Southern League Premier Division for the 2014/15 season.

Town’s football administrator and office manager Scott Griffin told the Standard: “I have estimated that our round trips will rise from 1,605 miles last season to 3,978 in the forthcoming campaign – almost two and a half times the travelling.

“We used a coach for just five journeys in the Div One South & West last term but I can see us having to hire a coach for up to 18 of the 23 away fixtures.”

The full composition of the Southern Premier is as follows: Arlesey Town, Banbury United, Biggleswade Town, Bideford, Burnham, Cambridge City, Chesham United, Chippenham Town, Cirencester Town, Dorchester Town, Dunstable Town, Frome Town, Halesowen Town, Histon, Hitchin Town, Hungerford Town, Paulton Rovers, Poole Town, Redditch United, St Neots Town, Slough Town, Stourbridge, Truro City, Weymouth.

New sponsors for the Southern League – succeeding Calor – are expected to be announced shortly.
