LECHLADE travel to Rockhampton on Saturday for the battle between the last two remaining unbeaten teams in the Glos/Wilts Division.

Lechlade go into the game with a fully-functioning batting unit which has posted 300-plus runs in both their games this season.

Lechlade coach Luke Sellers said: “It’s been a great start to our season and our batters seem to be in great form.

“Joe (Breet) and Brad (Dial) have both notched centuries and Paul (Godding) and Arran (Dickinson) have both backed up with good half-centuries.

“The batting unit have played as a team and they have all contributed further down the order in pursuit of big totals.

“On top of that the bowlers have all performed well especially Michael (Craigs) who has taken nine wickets in the two games so far as has Asanka (Vithanage) who has bowled economically, conceding only 62 runs off his 20 overs bowled as well as taking 5 wickets.”

“We have tremendous depth in our team this season all round and I am confident that we will be challenging hard for the title this season.”

Lechlade currently lead the table by three points from this weekend’s opponents, with Swindon just six points further behind.

Lechlade name a full-strength side with the return of strike bowler Sellers for Saturday’s game.

Lechlade captain Joe Breet thinks that Saturday’s away trip will probably be one of the toughest tests of the season for his side.

“Rockhampton are a very good side,” said Breet. “They reached the finals of the National Village Knock Out at Lord’s last season and are never an easy team to play so we will have to be on top of our game this weekend if we are to maintain our 100 per cent start to the season and top spot in the table.”
