ED GOODWIN, Cirencester Golf Club's head pro, shot a superb 65 which included seven birdies but that was still only worth a share of fifth place in the PGA South West Region's 125th anniversary pro-am over the ancient Minchinhampton Common course.
The winner was former European Tour pro
David Dixon who produced a 10-under-par 61.
The previous week Dixon won the opening Order of Merit tournament of the SW region, the Saunton Classic.
Former Ryder Cup player Paul Broadhurst, who received a special late invitation, helped the Photocad team of Mark Anderson, Phil Beswick and Sam Ratcliffe to win the team prize with a 19-under-par 123.
Former Curtis Cup player Hannah Barwood (Bristol Golf Centre) won the Ladies Pro-am to register her first success as a professional with a one-under-par 72.
