FAIRFORD put in a strong performance late on to rescue a vital losing bonus point against Combe Down.
Dorset & Wilts Div One North
Combe Down 22
Fairford 15
Fairford started the game the better of the two sides and were rewarded when Simon Waite crossed from a driving maul.
A Harry Johnson penalty extended the lead to 10-0, before Combe Down got the lead with two well-worked tries.
The home side added a further two tries in the second half before receiving a red card late on. Fairford capitalised with Pat Dee crossing over in the final play of the game.
This left fly half Johnson to coolly slot over from out wide which secured the bonus point.
The two sides are now level on points in Dorset and Wilts One with one match remaining.
