SOUTH CERNEY, current leaders of the M4 Karting Cirencester & District League left it late to claim the points, with three goals in the last 12 minutes at Oaksey.

The home side had to field virtually all the reserve team due to players being unavailable, but they made the visitors struggle and led 1-0 at half -time thanks to a close-range goal from Stuart Hudson.

Adam Keslake equalised for Cerney and then Mark Loxton put them ahead before Keslake's last-minute goal secured the victory.

CHQ United now look clear favourites to retain their title after they beat Poulton 2-1 away, a result that virtually ends Poulton's own title aspirations.

At the other end of the table, Stratton United's relegation was all but confirmed when they lost 2-0 at home to Siddington Sports.

After being promoted as Division Two champions last term, they have struggled all season, but have always played with good spirit and in a sporting manner.

Sherston's hopes of avoiding the drop were dealt a blow when they were thrashed 11-0 at The Beeches, who appear to be hitting form at the right time as they approach their two cup semi finals.

Danny Gudger, with a hat-trick, and Jody Lawrence (2) were the home side's main men on target, with the other goals coming from Luke Crosbee, Chris Fields, Tom Garner, Mitchell Stone, Richard Sutton and an own goal.

Real Fairford played at home against Bibury Reserves with only 10 men, but made the visitors fight for the victory.

After Archie Day had given Bibury the lead, Chris Nash equalised before half-time, but Jason Evans and a second from Day gave Bibury the points and moved them up to third in the table following Poulton's defeat.

Division Two leaders Kingshill Sports went goal crazy at Ashton Keynes, with the home side having an awful afternoon. At times this season, Ashton have looked a decent side and most neutrals would have expected this to have been a close game, but from the start Kingshill looked threatening with every attack.

They scored eight times before the interval and although Ashton staged a brief rally at the start of the second half when Scott Smith scored a penalty, Kingshill then stepped up a gear to score seven more to complete an emphatic 15-1 victory.

To be fair, despite the visitor's excellent play at times, the home side were guilty of some basic defensive errors and some of the goals were gifts.

The prolific Scott Reynolds scored six goals, and the others came from Ian Carr (2), Luke Wilson, Charlie Forrest, Tom Gardiner, James Harris, Liam Moss, James Piatek and an own goal.

In the only other game in Division Two, Lechlade Reserves beat Tetbury Town Thirds 3-0 with goals from Craig Breeze, Jason Cobb and Tony Hicks.

Despite their dominance and 100 per cent record, Kingshill Sports were outplayed and well beaten by Siddington Sports Veterans 5-0 in last Thursday night's CIA-sponsored Mills-Roberts Cup semi final played at Fairford Town's ground.

Siddington dominated from the first to last whistle and scored at regular intervals with Mark Smith hitting two. The 'other' Mark Smith, who came on in the second half, was also on the score sheet. The other goals came from Jack Baverstock and Declan King, whose rasping drive into the top corner was the pick of the goals.
