SEVENTEEN RSE runners were among the 19,000 who travelled to Rome for the Marathon the weekend before last.

The route which was set by the tourist board started and finished at the Colosseum and took runners past all the main sights including the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and St Peter's Square.
Well done to Sally Jamieson, Caroline Terry, Caroline and Paul Coates, Jo Weavin and Jasmine Hebden who ran the distance for the first time.
First to finish for the club was John Buck, who is in training for the Comrades in South Africa and finished in 3:31.25. Sharon Smith finished first for the ladies in 3:59.12 and third in her age category.
Sharon Rastelli's 4:03.12 smashed her marathon PB by 36 minutes and Jon Collins, with 4:31.02, also achieved his PB.
Laura Maddison using the race as a taper for the Marathon des Sables finishing in 4:45.47.

THE PBs just keep on coming for Matt Lambourne and Dave Witnall. Matt finished in 18.41 and Dave in 19.45 at Saturday's Park Run.
Calne 10K
SALLY JAMIESON, only just back from the Rome Marathon, completed the race in 45.28 to record a PB by 1min 30sec; Roy Joslin finished in 50.11.
