CIRENCESTER AC's ladies' captain Jo Musk played a supporting role to husband Gethin in last Sunday's Eastleigh 10k race.

Eastleigh 10k

Their aim was to achieve a personal best for Gethin which they did in fine style, crossing the line together in 40min 43sec which was an improvement of more than a minute on Gethin's time in the recent Bourton 10k.

They finished 332nd and 333rd in a high class field of 1,500 runners.

Swindon Parkrun 5k.

THE club's only other racers over the weekend were Martin Croucher and Barbara Thomas who featured strongly among the 326 runners in Saturday morning's Swindon Parkrun 5k.

Martin went under his target of 20 minutes to

finish 11th in a personal best of 19.17, while Barbara was 138th in 25.46, completing her 90th Swindon Parkrun race.

Next Sunday is the second round of the club's championship when several Cirencester runners will tackle the demanding Hogweed Hilly Half.

This multi-terrain half marathon is a mixture of roads and trails, including part of

the Cotswold Way, near Hawkesbury Upton and is a new addition to the club's championship races.

It should be good preparation for Cirencester AC's Chedworth Roman Trail which takes place the following weekend.

Entry spots are still available for this popular 10-mile multi-terrain race through the Cotswolds and late entries will also be taken on race day morning – Sunday, April 6 – until 10am at Chedworth Village Hall.
