Tom Moore Cup Semi Final
Frampton U15s 1
Avonvale Utd U15s 2
VALE had to show determination to come through this cup game and seal a place in the final. Frampton took an early lead when a mishit shot looped high and came down under the crossbar with the keeper dazzled by the sun.
Vale came out after the break with a renewed effort following some tactical changes and started to assert their dominance, soon being rewarded with a goal from Luke Freeman shortly followed by a rasping shot from Sam Hoare which proved to be the winning goal.
The home side responded but were thwarted by a resolute Vale defence. A great all-round team performance.
Avonvale Utd U11s 8
Lydiard Youth U11s 1
AVONVALE beat Lydiard Youth 8-1, thanks to an excellent first half display. Theo Harper opened the scoring after two minutes, finishing into the top corner having broken down the left.
Ben Lemos then struck following great work by Lewis Rodgers. Danny Hedge soon made it three, before Theo and Ben doubled their respective tallies from long range. Lewis scored a deserved goal of his own as he continued to run riot down the right, but the best was saved until the end of the half when Dom Randall flicked home with a fantastic piece of skill to make it seven.
In the second half Lydiard deservedly scored first only for Dom to score his second moments later. MoM: T Harper.
