BRISTOL Golf Centre professional Giuseppe Licata continued his relentless assault on this season’s Total Triumph Order of Merit as he chalked up win number six of the campaign in the latest Gloucestershire and Somerset PGA Medal at Stockwood Vale.

His four under par round of 67 was three better than the rest, who were headed by Paul Deeprose (Halstock Driving Range).

The temperature was a few degrees lower than many had expected but Licata’s golf was pretty hot as he carded five birdies and had just one blemish when he took three putts at the 13th. Licata's nearest challenger in the Order of Merit, Cirencester head pro Ed Goodwin lost ground to the leader but did turn in another solid round, his two over par 73 earning a share of sixth place.
