IN-FORM Didmarton made it four wins in a row when they visited a vibrant Slimbridge Reserves side on Saturday.

Stroud & District Div 1

Slimbridge Res 1

Didmarton 2

The game started brightly and it was Didmarton who took advantage of their possession, going ahead after half an hour following a dangerous cross into the area which was headed in by John Clark for his third goal in two games.

Slimbridge came back into the game but failed to convert their opportunities, although some credit must go to Gary Waldron in the Didmarton goal for his fine stops.

The second goal of the game also went to the away side, with Didmarton's wing back Tom Redpath driving forward, cutting in and unleashing an effort which took a fortunate deflection off an advancing defender before beating the Slimbridge keeper.

The Swans hit back immediately, on the stroke of half-time, when a throw in on the left caught Didmarton napping and the home side's lively No.8 raced through before slotting past Waldron.

The second half was another bright, competitive 45 minutes and though both teams created chances, none was converted.
