Newent created the best of the early chances with a shot from long range going wide and a lob also just missing the target.

Newent did have the ball in the net only for it to be disallowed for a foul.

Bibury were forced to make a change on the half-hour when influential midfielder Danny Brunton had to come off.

As the half went on, Bibury started to apply more pressure and should have taken the lead. Scott Huband burst into the box and his shot was well blocked by the keeper only for the striker put his follow-up just past the post.

Bibury started the second half strongly, creating chances. Rockley saw a shot well saved while Huband and Kanne Outram put shots wide. Midway through the half, however, Bibury took the lead with an Ashley Rockley special which curled past the keeper from the edge of the box.

With 15 minutes to go, Bibury were reduced to ten men as Charlie Ingham saw red for a second bookable offence, but Newent's numerical advantage only lasted five minutes as they too had a player sent off.

Rockley nearly made it 2-0 before, right at the end, Bibury keeper Steve Luce produced a good save to ensure his side won the three points.
