FC Chippenham U11s 2

Forest Green Rovers U11s 4

ROVERS won their first game of the season without needing a vintage display.

The impressive Sam Marson put Rovers 1-0 up with a fine strike from inside the box and it wasn’t long before Ameer Courts added a quick brace to make it 3-0.

Rovers were composed at the back with Harry Purnell, Tamas Tomcsanyi, Billy Montague and Adam Harding starting to show a good understanding together.

Some intelligent play from Chevy Sujeewon saw him put Max Baker through but the shot went over the bar.

The second half saw Rovers miss several chances and they were punished when Chippenham pulled a goal back.

Rovers responded when some fine individual play in the midfield from Dylan Miles set Freddie Collings free to score his first goal for the club.

Chippenham kept battling and pulled a further goal back late on to make the final score 4-2 to Rovers.

MoM: Sam Marson.

South Cerney U10s 9

Shaw Cubs U9s 1

SOUTH CERNEY made it three wins out of three with a pleasing performance against Shaw Cubs.

Cerney had been on the end of some similar scores last season but have learned from the experience and are now playing assured football.

They raced into a 5-1 half time lead through goal machine Josh Allen (4) and Owen Humphrey.

The second half continued in a similar vein with further goals from Jamie Miles (2) and Miles Lonnergan.

Alice Cappell marshalled the defence throughout the game and protected Theo Cooper in goal.

Rotating the players into less familiar positions saw Callum Mays play some intelligent football in the midfield and Benjy Dodds at right back looked to push forward whenever he could.

Harry Ashcroft scored the goal of the game - and his first for South Cerney - to make it 9-1.

PoM: Josh Allen.
