Lee Piercy is on top of the world in Ottawa

LEE PIERCY has become a world duathlon champion for the second time.
Piercy, who is sponsored by Performance Cycles of Poulton and a regular at the Latton Time Trials of the Corinium Cycling Club, has won the 2013 ITU Duathlon World Championships in the 40-44 age category held at Ottawa in Canada.
He finished more than two minutes ahead of Francois Marceau of the host nation with Britain's Chris Nicoll in third.
He completed the run/bike/run phases in 1hr 54min 13sec.
Piercy, who won the World Long Course Amateur Duathlon Championship in 2007 and was named Duathlete of the Year two years later, has been training in the States where he has moved temporarily with his job at Intel.
Piercy, a giant of a man at 6ft 5in who turned 41 at the start of the month, has also won several national titles and European medals.
