North Leigh 1 Cirencester Town 0.
CIRENCESTER TOWN were cruelly denied a battling point in the fourth minute of added time at North Leigh on Tuesday night.
And their nemesis was again centre forward John Mills who not only scored the late winner but had put away all three goals for the Oxfordshire side in their early-season victory at the Corinium Stadium.
Leigh Henry, who had been immense for Ciren in their gritty 1-0 win over league leaders Hungerford on Saturday, pulled a hamstring in the warm-up and was replaced in the back four by Jon Beeden.
Ciren had finished the first half strongly, Sam Collier hitting the bar and Josh Morse missing a one-on-one opportunity, and the game seemed to be drifting to a goalless draw, particularly after the visitors’ former Welsh International keeper Glyn Garner saved a penalty in the 78th minute.
Then, with the referee about to blow for time, Mills produced a quality finish to bury a right wing cross.
Cirencester Town: Garner, Anson, Dunton, Thompson, Beeden, Mortimer-Jones, Reid, Wells, Collier, Bennett (Griffin, 86), Morse (Packer, 79).
