Littlemore 0 Stow-on-the-Wold 30.
LEAGUE leaders Stow made it 12 wins in as many games this season but had to shake off the rust after a bad weather break before emerging victorious.
A ruck infringement gave Stow an early penalty and Nick Cafearo duly kicked the points.
It was, however, an error-strewn start and a loose kick from the Littlemore second row resulted in Stow running the ball back from the 22.
After going through several pairs of hands and four phases, the final barnstorming run from Henry Teare saw him over in the left corner.
Soon after, Cafearo retrieved a Littlemore kick and ran through several half-hearted tackles before passing to James Holmes who ran in to score in the right corner. HT: 13-0 Early in the second half, Ed Fanshawe streaked down the touchline from halfway leaving would-be tacklers flailing. He ran round the last despairing defender to score under the posts and Cafearo converted.
From the restart, the Stow forwards linked with the backs and Cafearo made 40 yards before being dragged down just short of the line. Chris Powlesland, following up, grabbed the ball and scored in the corner.
The game then went into another error-filled phase as both sides tried to run the ball.
But, having won a scrum against the head well inside their own half, Stow attacked through the backs and Craig Chapman came round on the loop to make further ground before passing to Cafearo who then outpaced two defenders to score in the corner and complete Stow’s scoring.
