Back on Track.

I’M back on track, literally, on Tuesday (Nov 27) at leafy Lingfield, in a two-mile handicap hurdle. Make sure you log on to www.

thepeopleshorse.co.uk to win tickets to come and cheer me into the winners’ enclosure – ever the optimist!

A Gud Cheltenham.

I KNOW I wasn’t there but the rest of Gloucestershire must have been, as the Cheltenham Open Meeting recorded an all-time high attendance for the three days of more than 70,500 people. My trainer Fergal O’Brien had quite a few runners – Silver Roque ran a good race in third on Friday and Bradley was unlucky to finish runner-up on Saturday. On Sunday, Perfect Candidate and Mystifiable had their first outings on a racecourse finishing sixth and tenth – a huge learning curve for both. Local trainers had a successful weekend with the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Double Ross winning with son Sam on board in the Paddy Power Handicap Hurdle. Trainer Tom George and my mate Paddy Brennan won the Racing Post Hurdle with Olofi on Sunday.

And our landlord here at the stables, Timmy Murphy, rode a double on Saturday aboard Our Father and Ifandbutwhynot. The big race was the Paddy Power Gold Cup. The soft ground arguably threw up a surprise result as favourite Grands Crus and the fancied Hunt Ball both pulled up. The Paul Nicholls-trained Al Ferof won by a comfortable three lengths in the end, after beating off the Alan King-trained Walkon – both greys just like me. It’s a winning colour!

Weekend winners?

A FEW stablemates who might be making an appearance this weekend at either Ascot or Haydock Park are; Jacks Grey, Achilles Hare, Alvarado and Fiddlers Bid. Hooves crossed!.

Movember.

MOVEMBER, the charity month dedicated to growing a moustache in aid of men’s health, has become an international event. Horse racing is doing its bit to support the charity with generous raceday discounts and a weighing room of jockeys taking part as well. Check out the discounts and how to donate on my website.

Ten To Follow Team.

FINGAL BAY was the pick of our team @CheltenhamRaces when he ran a creditable second behind the dynamite Dynaste.
