Carol Clarke and Diane Moore excel in Auckland

CIRENCESTER AC members Carol Clarke and Diane Moore starred at the Triathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand recently.
Nearly 5,000 amateur athletes took part in the wet and windy conditions. The Sprint field included Ciren Tri Club girls Carol and Diane competing in their respective age group finals at the spectacular Queens Wharf Front.
Both qualified at this year’s calendar of events, some of which have taken place at South Cerney Lakes.
Clarke finished 1st Brit and 5th overall from 39 entrants in her category, while Moore finished 2nd Brit and 13th from 65 entries in her event.
Dot Liviabella from Stroud also competed, over the Olympic distance, finishing 35th from 77 starters and sixth among the 12 competing Brits.
The 2013 Finals will be held in Hyde Park, London, and both Carol and Di have already qualified with their respective performances in New Zealand.
