CIRENCESTER TOWN manager Adi Viveash has solved his goalkeeping headache with a novel remedy - the job swap.

When Matt Bulman, arguably Viveash's best player, opted to stay in the Southern League Premier Division by moving to Swindon Supermarine, the boss of the relegated Centurions had a massive hole to fill.

Tom King has provided the solution by heading in the opposite direction from Supermarine to pull on the gloves at the Corinium Stadium next season.

He signed a one-year contract on Tuesday night.

King, who was the Management Player of the Year at the Swindon club in 2007/8, could clearly see which way the wind was blowing when manager Mark Collier moved for Bulman soon after the end of the season.

"Tom was not best pleased about the move for Bully and at Southern League level I don't think you can carry two keepers, so I put in a call for him straight away," said Viveash.

"Tom played well in both games against us last season.

"He is good vocally, an excellent shot-stopper, in fact, he is a good all round keeper.

"I have to say the move has a lot to do with Oggy (Hunt), who knows Tom very well.

"And coming from Stroud means there is even less travelling for Tom in future.

"We actually talked to him at the beginning of last season before Bully became available.

"I am delighted with the signing. He has already achieved promotion from the South and West Division and that's what I want in my side - winners."

King joins Nathan Haisley, Steve Robertson, Matt Williams and Lee Spalding as Viveash's quintet of signings for the 2008/9 season so far.
