Runners take up the challenge of the Cricklade 10k

MEMBERS of the Running Somewhere Else Club took up the challenges of the Cricklade 10k in good conditions on Sunday.
With one race to go, the battle at the top of the ladies' championship continued with all three contenders finishing well.
Debbie Barry was first home in 45min 35sec and 2nd in her age category followed by Sharon Rastelli in 46.23 and then Sharon Smith in 47.38 and 3rd in her age category.
Mark Garrett (39.05) and Ivor Probert (46.14) both showed continuing return to form finishing 1st and 3rd respectively for the club and being separated by Simon Bowers (39.35) in second place.
Well done to Simon who finished 11th overall and collected 3rd prize in the MV40. Paul Coates, 49.44 and Wayne Edginton, 50.06 also continue to improve by achieving PBs.
Other times: Andrew Maddison 44.25, Andy Sampson 45.35, Dave Witnall 45.44, Mari Fotherby 52.41, Laura Maddison 55.22, Mark Godsland 57.34, Caroline Coates 59.36 and Ella Cservenka 1.04.03.
Congratulations go to Catrin Fotherby who achieved a PB when she crossed the line in 1.51.54 in the Half Marathon and to Paul Byrnes who finished in 1.54.56.
Also on the day was was the Cricklade half marathon, which featured just under 300 runners, and the fun run.
