RIDERS of Malmesbury School Equestrian teams enjoyed a successful outing at the National Schools Championships qualifiers held recently at Hartpury.

The school's dressage team qualified for the championships as did the novice jumping with style and there were also some individual qualifications too.

The team of Miranda King, Harry Compton, Tash Bailey and Evie Dyer all jumped superb clears to be placed second overall (out of 19 teams) which has qualified them for the National Championships.

Tash was also placed third. This was the first ever attempt at a school team dressage competition and all four riders put in top performances.

The team of Abbie Newbury, Tash Bailey, Paige Davy and Rosie Pyle were amazed at coming second and, therefore, gaining qualification for the National Championships.

They were all placed individually too - each rider being in a different section and so not competing against each other.

Abbie finished second, Tash third, Paige first and Rosie fourth. And Abbie rode a smashing test to come second in the elementary level class, resulting in yet another Championship qualification.

The National Schools Championships take are set to take place at Addington Equestrian Centre at Milton Keynes during this month.
