Tetbury racer to make step up to next level

TETBURY'S Moto3 star Danny Kent is on the brink of signing a Moto2 deal for 2013 with French team Tech 3, writes Alannah Fellows.
Currently riding for Red Bull Ajo Motorsport KTM in Moto3, Kent is close to adding his name to the very British, but French-based team.
Danny, 18, lies eighth in the Moto3 world championship but struggles with his size on the 250cc Moto3 machines which favour the smaller, lighter riders Kent would take fellow Brit Bradley Smith’s bike for the 2013 season, and is one of three riders in the running for the ride.
“It is looking good for Moto2 next year," said Danny. “I am in talks with a few teams including Tech 3, but it looks like I will be going to Moto2.
"Size and weight is a big thing. I get quite cramped up on the Moto3 bike. The move will be right for me and I am looking forward to it. I like Tech 3 and the way they work and I believe in the project, so we will see.”
Kent competes in the Iveco Grand Prix of Aragon in Spain on Sunday.
CIRENCESTER Deer Park student Jordan Weaving secured a top-seven finish in the British 125cc Championship at Assen last weekend.
In the inaugural British Superbike round at the iconic Assen circuit, Jordan qualified in tenth position ahead of the race.
The South African rider, who has already visited Assen in 2012 for the Red Bull Rookies series, got a good start and set his fastest lap on the third of 12.
Jordan, 15, crossed the line in seventh position, just ahead of fellow Brit Joe Irving.
Dutch wildcard Bryan Schouten won the race by four seconds.
Jordan lies sixth in the championship standings with two rounds to go.
