Wildcats go down to another home defeat
11:19am Saturday 22nd September 2012 in Sport
English Premier League.
Swindon Wildcats 3 Slough Jets 7.
THE Swindon Wildcats remain without a win in the opening three games of the league season after going down 7-3 at home to the Slough Jets on Friday night. Five minutes into the game, the home side found themselves on a 5-on-3 powerkill as they served two consecutive penalty calls. Despite keeping out the Jets with back-to-back saves, Swindon netminder Skinns would eventually give up his first goal of the evening to the Jets' Pliskauskas.
Minutes later Slough doubled their lead as the 6ft 5in Bakrlik gave Slough a 2-0 lead.
Swindon found a reply through import Michal Kapicka but the Jets restored their two-goal lead at the end of the first period thanks to Towalski.
Towalski netted again in the second period to make it 4-1 as the game turned feisty.
However, newly-appointed Swindon captain Aaron Nell brought the score back to 4-2 when beating netminder Rockmann.
Four more goals came in the final 20 minutes. Bakrlik added his second before team-mate Bruce made it 6-2.
Good combination play with Jonas Hoog, led Swindon's Nell to pull another goal back.
But the Jets' Harabin rounded off the evening’s scoring to leave the visitors’ 7-3 victors.
