Purton overcome injuries to gain battling point at Lambourn

Uhlsport Hellenic Div 1 West.
Lambourn Sports 1 Purton 1.
AFTER two league defeats on the trot, Purton picked up a point at Lambourn Sports last Saturday, writes Alan Eastwood.
Purton have been decimated by injuries and the latest is keeper Johnny Cowley, who has now joined Marcus Hall, Darren Brown, Nick McCrae, Justin Miller, James Richards and Richard Crocker on the sidelines.
Ryan Child, Mark Belcher and Leigh Brown were also unavailable.
After a goalless first half, in front of a crowd of just eight people, it was the home side that went ahead. Purton hit back, though, and Dave Gee equalised with an excellent free kick.
Stephen Avenell hit the woodwork late on and from the rebound Tom Cadden put his effort over the bar.
Purton nearly clinched all three points when sub Lee Moulton hit the woodwork on his Purton debut.
