ADLESTROP are the SweetFuels CDCA Div 1 champions for the third successive year after their nearest rivals Oakridge were rained off on Saturday.
Barring any points deductions, Oakridge cannot now match the Adlestrop points average regardless of the results this Saturday.
The only game played this week was at NATS where visitors Chedworth batted first and posted a competitive 159-8. Opener Darryl Drinkwater carried his bat for the top score of 71*. For the hosts Will Spence (3-41) took the wickets and Graham Bartlett (1-23 off ten overs) bowled a tight spell. In reply, a couple of early wickets dented the home hopes but Bob Phillips (62), with a mixture of defence laced with some aggressive shots, kept them in the hunt.
Rob George (3-32) took his wicket and that of skipper Will Spence for a duck to turn the game in favour of the visitors. In the end, Chedworth prevailed with NATS falling 12 runs short of victory.
The matches at Oaksey and Stow-on-the-Wold were cancelled due to waterlogged grounds. Sherston Magna were unable to raise a side and conceded to Windrush Valley.
Final relegation positions will be decided on Saturday when already relegated Sherston Magna will learn which of three clubs, Oaksey, Barnsley Beeches and NATS, will join them in Div 2 next season.
The number of teams to be relegated may be different to normal this year due to re-structuring of the Glos County League with some clubs returning to CDCA cricket.
