ADLESTROP took a step closer to their third successive CDCA Div 1 title without breaking sweat as their game at second-placed Oakridge was cancelled due to a wet pitch.
A good win next week in the local derby at Stow-on-the Wold would almost see them home.
NATS took a big step towards avoiding relegation with a comfortable win at bottom-of-the-table Sherston Magna. The hosts batted first but only just reached a batting point, being all out for 100. Chris Lovell top-scored with 38 and Wayne Lockey took 3-25. NATS chased the total in only 16 overs with Ryan Newhook scoring a fluent 46.
In a mid-table clash, Windrush Valley comfortably beat Stow. On a slow wicket the hosts complied 123 all out thanks to an invaluable 59 from Chris Mills. The pick of the Stow bowlers was Dan Smith (4-23).
In reply, Stow had no answer to the home bowling attack and were dismissed for only 74. Skipper Gideon Long (3-7), Matt Winter (3-12) and Bob Parker (3-18) shared the wickets.
The matches at Oaksey and Chedworth were also victims of the weather, bringing the total number of matches cancelled or abandoned this season to 36, which represents 47 per cent of the scheduled total.
