Devastating Poulton bowling sets up nine-wicket win

Readers Glos CCL Div 2.

Cranham 158 all out.

Poulton 159-1.

HAVING suffered a heavy ten-wicket defeat to Cranham earlier in the season, Poulton bounced back with a devastating win.

The victory was due to some sensational bowling Liam James, Mark Higginson, James Barton and Oliver Newman to dismiss Cranham for just 158 runs and a fielding display which included nine catches.

In reply, opener and U15 Alexander Hall steered Poulton to victory with a splendid 53 not out, aided by Neil Ferriera, who scored a fine 59 not out. Poulton are now fourth in Division 2 and hope to improve that position on Saturday when they host third-placed Cheltenham Civil Service at the Englands ground.
