TONY DUNN, former sport therapist with Cirencester Town FC , has been selected to take part in the pre- and post-match ceremony for the FA Community Shield 2012 between Chelsea and Manchester City at Villa Park on Sunday (August 12).
Dunn is one of just three servicemen – one each from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force – to have been chosen.
“I am honoured to be representing the Royal Air Force,” said Dunn. “Prior to the match I will be walking on to the pitch in front of an estimated 42,000 crowd carrying either the FA Cup, Premier League Trophy or Community Shield.
“I am going to try and get my hands on the FA Cup as my team, Newcastle United, has a good FA Cup history – although they have not won it since 1955!
“Post-match we will again be walking out with the Community Shield as well as the winners’ and runners-up medals.”
