BIBURY have claimed their first silverware of the season with a victory in the annual Jim Newman Memorial Trophy Final at Clanfield FC.

Bibury, saw off highler league oppisiton throughout to beat Eynsham, Faringdon and Fairford Town before trouncing Headington 5-1 in the final.

Bibury took the lead as early as the second minute as Chris Singh got on the end of a cross and beat the keeper low down at the near post.

A smart save from Bibury keeper Luce kept their lead intact but Headington got the equalizer just after the half-hour mark when a good move was finished off well.

Five minutes later, Bibury retook the lead when James Keylock danced round a couple of defenders into the box and fired home.

Bibury added a third as Ashley Rockley cut in from the left hand side of the area and finished well.

The second half began with Headington trying hard to get back in the game but the Bibury defence and midfield stood firm.

Bibury got a fourth goal when Kanne Outram fired home after good work from Keylock and Parker.

Josh Russell, back with Bibury after a season at Cirencester, then scored his side’s fifth and final goal.
