Longlevens 1.

Cirencester Town 3.

THREE second half goals helped maintain Cirencester Town’s unbeaten pre-season warm-up campaign as they beat Longlevens of the Gloucestershire County League.

Longlevens, managed by Cirencester Arena Manager James French, played a full part in what was an entertaining game.

The first half was fairly even with both teams having a couple of chances without converting them.

The deadlock was broken soon after the hour mark when keeper Lee Clatworthy, deputising for the holidaying Matt Bath, played a long ball over the Longlevens defence for Scott Griffin to run on to and slot past the keeper.

Five minutes later, Longlevens equalised when Scott Hayward fired home a low cross after a good move.

Cirencester then restored their lead in the 74th minute when a long-range shot from James Mortimer-Jones was well saved only for the rebound to fall to captain Matt Sysum, who calmly followed up to score.

In the 77th minute, after good passing between Griffin and Jamie Reid, the striker put in a low cross for Sam Collier to net the final goal of the game.Cirencester’s Richard Mansell continued his comeback after knee surgery with another half-hour of valuable game time.
