Coates have no trouble chasing down modest North Cerney target

Coates 81-0.

HAVING bowled out the hosts North Cerney for 80, Coates completed their run chase in less nine overs.

On a misty, drizzly afternoon, North Cerney won the toss and elected to bat. However, a trio of bowlers from the visitors (George Nicole, Tom Harrop and Craig O'Keefe) were soon sending batsmen back to the pavilion.

Steve Lamble (22) and Andrew Saunders (12), for the home team, put up the stiffest defence but at the interval North Cerney were 80 all out off 29 overs. Coates quickly got the runs without loss. Jay Russell's 54 not out included four sixes and a plethora of fours which made for an entertaining finish.
